Although it is a pop song, KELAA clearly indicates that it deviates from typical “pleasant to the ear” radio songs, and is heading towards indie. The artist from the first notes surprises with her haunting vocals. The intro focuses on minimalism in instrumental axis, in order to draw more attention to the vocals, and for a good reason, because it’s difficult not to be enthralled by a subtle vibrato, which in combination with the instrumental creates a rather mysterious and dark blend of sounds. Serefe is a quality Byronic pop tale.
