A theatrical and self-reflective single from Prism Tats strikes with paino-covered dreamy soundscapes and sparse electronic elements, making Tenderness a pop ballad of miscommunication. “I would break your heart if you’d asked me to, because there’s nothing that I wouldn’t do if you’d ask me to,” sings Prism Tats, and then follows with “When you needed me I was there, but I was not there – you needed tenderness,” which explains the whole concept for the song. In Tenderness Prism Tats is creating a beautiful contrast of what “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” really means, as despite having a good thought in the heart, the relationship suffers greatly when the chosen words and actions are not the right ones. It is a thoughtful concept for a single, sad mostly, as not being able to help someone when we really want to, and thus feeling “useless” can hurt a great deal.
